GED® Pre-Registration

  • 16 and 17 year old must be granted approval from the state and meet other criteria
  • 18 and 19 year olds must present a withdrawal form from the last school attended
  • All potential testers must present a valid state or federal picture ID: passport, Drivers’ license

Process for GED® testing

Atlanta Technical College is an official GED® testing center. Candidates must complete demographics information and verify eligibility to test before permission is granted to schedule GED® tests. Pre-registration and advance payments are required. Successful completion of the GED® tests qualifies an individual for a state of Georgia General Educational Development (GED®) credential. GED® credentials are accepted by industry, government, licensing boards, technical colleges, and employers as the equivalent to a high school education. The GED® test consists of five parts covering the following subject areas: Language Arts Writing, Social Studies, Science, Language Arts Reading, and Mathematics. These tests are designed to enable people who did not graduate from high school to demonstrate that they have acquired the knowledge and skills usually associated with the completion of a four-year high school program of study. If an individual wishes to take the GED® tests, he or she must be 18 years of age or older and the high school class of which he or she was most recently a member must have graduated.

Cost

$95 for the complete test ($19 per test section). Scholarships may be available to eligible students. The five GED® test Battery are: Language Arts, Writing Test, Language Arts, Reading Test, social Studies Test, Science Test, and Mathematics Test.
